Its like the Cubs version of a mass transit system

As a side note, I want to mention that the Chicago Transit system is without a doubt the crappiest and most decrepit mass transit I have ever had the misfortune to ride. We rode the thing six separate times this past weekend, and on two occasions, on two entirely different lines, the train just stopped for a half hour or so in the middle of the tunnel for some unknown reason. Even when the thing was actually moving, half the time it went at the speed of a brisk jog and there were probably a dozen other times where the thing stopped for 10 or 15 seconds at a time in between stations. Mind you, this was not the usual rush hour "too many trains in too little space" issue that plagues metro systems everywhere; we rode the thing late at night and on the weekends.

I've ridden plenty of trains in the SF Bay Area and New York City, and a combined month of daily ridership on the those systems didn't see the amount of delays and failures of one weekend in Chicago.

I do understand there is a lot of ongoing maintainence and work being done on the Chicago system. God knows, it sure needs it.
