So it is true

I know why he did it -- because Apple couldn't keep selling 1.2 ghz g4 Powerbooks forever.

But, almost all the assumptions about Apple hardware performance that we have taken to heart for the past 10 years have gone up like smoke. So this must be what it felt like for those die-hard communists when the Soviet Union collapsed.

It's almost like Apple has become Sony...they make stylish and cool-looking Intel CPUs, the only difference being that they run MacOS X instead of Windows XP.

I have to think about it more, but at first glance I really don't like it, and I am filled with a sense of dread for the future of Apple the likes of which I haven't felt since that bad old days of the mid 1990s.
