Man bites dog

A civil unions bill in Connecticut passed a committee vote but is being fought tooth and nail...not by the religious right, but rather by some seriously wacked-out gay activists!

They are pissed because they prefer a bill that would grant full marriage...so rather then settle for half the pie now and work for marriage later, they are vowing to kill the civil unions bill. Talk about short-sighted! Not only will this move hurt real gay and lesbian couples, but it also shows an amazing lack of concern for achieving a real gain for equality through the democratic process. It is petulant and immature, and I am sorry that gays and lesbians in Connecticut have such poor leadership.

EDIT: The top lesbian lobbyist in Connecticut apparently agrees with me.
