Hamas claimed responsibility for the mortar attacks, saying it was avenging the deaths of two Palestinians on Wednesday. One, a Hamas activist, was killed while handling explosives.

What is an "activist?"

You might be an activist if you protest, write letters to the editor, lobby the legislature,or even chain yourself to a tree or fence.

If you handle explosives, you are not an activist. You are a terrorist.
